Joseph Smith

Joseph Arnold Smith has been with Friedman-Roth since 2009. He brought with him an enthusiasm for NYC real estate and a tenacious ability to close deals. Joseph has a deep understanding of the different neighborhoods that make up the Boro’s of Brooklyn and NYC. Joseph has developed a large roster of loyal customers and clients and has closed several hundred transactions in his real estate career, which includes the sale of The Grayson in 2014, a seventeen story 128 unit luxury high rise which sold for $99,750,000.

Joseph attributes his ability to stay with a sale to his first job, which was in sales. At age 15, he worked at Murray & Me, a men’s fashion store in Brooklyn. His entrepreneurial spirit took root during that time. At age 18, he began his own business in men’s outerwear first in Queens and Brooklyn and eventually expanded to Staten Island, where it thrived for many years.

In 1994, Joseph branched out into real estate. He became a real estate agent for Wishnow Steinfeld & Goldstein known as WS&G Realty with offices in The Lincoln Building. From WS&G, Joseph moved on to G F I Realty, Lee Odell Real Estate, Simon Rudd Associates, and then Extreme Realty his home for over 10 years.  At Extreme Realty, he met Joel Radmin, who was a principal. When Radmin left to partner with Friedman-Roth, Joseph joined the company as well.

Joseph’s coworkers and clients recognize his tenacity and ability to broker complex deals. Many of his clients have been with him for years because of his ethics and experience. Joseph takes pride in these long-term relationships.

Joseph grew up in Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay. He attended Brooklyn College. He has lived in his beloved Greenwich Village for over 20 years where he has also brokered numerous transactions over the years.
